Rosemarie Siggins

Rosemarie Siggins, who the media has dubbed, "The Woman With Half a Body" has an extraordinary story. She was born with legs but shortly after birth had them both amputated due to the onset of a rare genetic condition.

Rosemarie's story is one of those jaw droppers -- and not because she doesn't have legs. She is amazing because she is happy, well-adjusted and lives a life more completely normal than those who can boast of being "completely normal."

She is married, works a job, drives a car, even had a baby. Nothing seems to stop her. Her story is inspiring and so is her personality.

The last link (below) gives a more recent update, including information that Rosemarie and her husband Dave are expecting their second child in January!

Here are some links to some stories about Rosemarie.

I think Rosemarie is one of the most remarkable women in the world.
I sincerely mean this.
She is loving, full of heart and courage, amnongst many other things. I pray that God will continue to bless her life and her families life.
I think that somneone should submit the family for an Extreme Home Makeover.
They all deserve it. Extreme Home Makeover could make things easier for Rose and her dad and brother.
However, in filling out the application, you have to have some personal informaiton about the family. I don't, I have only seen them on TV
Here is the application: http://abc.go.com/primetime/xtremehome/emheapplication12122005.pdf

My sister has Sacral Agensis also. She is very much wanting a child herself. However, without a partner, she is seeking help from a fertility clinic. We need more medical information to help my sister achieve her dream. Rosemarie, if you see this message, or someone that knows Rosemarie, please contact me by email on jhcastle@orcon.net.nz, regards Julie, New Zealand

I think Rose is holding everything together better than anyone I know could ever do , being able to drive , taking care of a child , a father and a brother is just remarkable. She is definitely one person we should all look up to.

Rosemarie is an inspiration to me because she simply does not give up. Often times in life, we are dealt with situations that are not in our favor, but rosemarie stands up against those challenges and faces them with courage. Not only is she able to have enough strength for herself, but for her family as well which is truly remarkable. To me, she is truth that with great strength and determination anything is possible. thank you rosemarie for being a light in my life.

Rose, I hope you know how much of an inspiration you are to so many people...I saw the TLC program the other night and was in awe of you. I pray that your dad is doing better and your brother is able to get the help and resources he needs to help him. You and your hubby are adorable and your son is a precious angel. I love to watch you interact with him - - I thought it was so wonderful of you to sit and discuss the reasons why you do not have legs with his peers. You did it in a way that was so up front and matter of fact - you are amazing...thanks for inspiring me and giving me courage to keep on trucking and never giving up...you are a marvel

Rose I saw your show on TV, I also remember the episode on Murray Polvich. I just want to say that for such a small woman you have so much weight to bare on those shoulders. You stand taller then I and I have my legs I can walk. But I walk in Pain 24-7 as I have pinched nerves and a deteriorating disk, fibromyalgia, sleep apnia, restless legs syndrome, Irritable bowl syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression (any wonder), and a few more.... Your words about not feeling angry and upset but to stand up and do something meant so much to me coming from way down there. Here comes this little lady that stands miles taller then I ever could. I wish that I had your strength. I hope for nothing but good for you and yours. YOU deserve it.

Rose, i just saw you show on the tv, and im sure youve heard this more than enough- But i think you are the most remarkable strongest women i have ever heard of. I want you to know that here in Massachusetts people are touched by you and your family. Your husband is very lucky to have such a 'down to earth' and fun wife. I wish the best for you and god bless. Good luck with your life and i wish the best.
